Barrel of Crackers

May 29, 2008

In a 7 to 2 decision, the Supreme Court decided that employees who complain of racial bias in the workplace and then face retaliation can sue, based on the Civil Rights Act of 1866.

So in other words, if the Blue Man fires your Green co-worker for doing Green things, and you stand up for the Green guy, and then they ax you for speaking up, you can sue them. This doesn’t mean you’ll win, but this is America, and dagnabbit, you can at least express concerns of racial bias without fear of reprisal. No one is getting special pay or special hand jobs, you just can’t be fired for filing a complaint. Good going, Robes, I believe that you got this one right.

But, wai’ wai’ wait, lemme guess…

“Dissenting were Associate Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia.”

Can’t you two EVER agree with your colleagues? EVER? Why do you ALWAYS have to be such dicks?
